Familink is hosted entirely in France, by a French host 🇫🇷☁️

Familink is a 4G/Wi-Fi connected photo frame and a paper magazine, but it's also a platform for families to share photos that they can then find again. To operate, Familink needs servers hosted in the cloud. Since January 2022, all these servers and all personal data have been hosted by a French hosting company (Scaleway) in data centres in Paris.

At a time when the protection of personal data is becoming increasingly important (RGPD), Familink has a duty to set an example by choosing a 100% European hosting company that does not have any data centres in the United States, thus protecting us from the American Cloud Act.

What's more, by choosing a French host, we are greatly reducing Familink's carbon footprint, as France has the lowest carbon electricity consumption in the world.
